Competition for teens’ attention is fierce between IM, TIVO, and HALO.  So teen literature is biting back in October with a fun, innovative program entitled 31 Flavorite Authors for Teens.

As a local, critically-acclaimed young adult author, I am teaming up with 30 other award-winning authors, YALSA (the fastest growing arm of the American Library Association) and readergirlz (a leading online book community) to fight for teen time. 

Every night in October, a different and popular YA author will chat on MySpace with teen readers.  The 31 participating authors include the #1 international bestselling Stephenie Meyer (Eclipse) and the #1 New York Times bestselling Meg Cabot (The Princess Diaries) and Ann Brashares (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants).

We want to ensure that teens know there are entire worlds waiting for them to explore within books.
